The Challenge
Fatimah Al-Luwaim, a passionate artist, envisioned "Janamia"—a VR tale of a bougainvillea flower on a journey of self-discovery—as her first XR project. She needed guidance to shape her vision into an emotionally resonant, immersive experience.
Our Approach
Inspired by her idea from the start, we mentored Fatimah through universal principles of story and the art of spatial storytelling, helping her craft "Janamia’s" journey with compelling story beats and character arcs, always with the XR format in mind. We guided her in storyboarding a hand-drawn animated VR world in Quill, complete with synchronised scents to enhance key story moments.
To execute her vision, we hand-picked a team of designers, artists, and animators, producing it entirely in VR. After production, we created a 2D version of the story for trailers and promos, ensuring broader accessibility.
The Result
Fatimah's debut in this powerful storytelling medium delighted audiences with its innovation and emotional depth. Janamia is a charming blend of traditional and immersive animation techniques highlighting the versatility of a VR production pipeline.
